With a backdrop of timeless architecture, sweeping river views, and charming historic details, Trevor and Emma’s wedding day included vintage glamour and love woven into every moment.

Surrounded by her bridesmaids, Emma began her day in the sunlit Primary Suite. Laughter echoed as they took playful getting-ready photos in the room, capturing the excitement of the morning. Meanwhile, Trevor got ready in the Pool House, taking individual portraits outside near the pool, framed by the crisp fall air.

Dressed in her gown, Emma slid in her earrings and perfected her makeup before heading to the Pool House walkway, where Trevor awaited with a genuine smile, for their first look. Their private vows followed, a deeply emotional moment that brought tears to both of their eyes. They then took family portraits on the walkway, the natural stone and surrounding greenery providing a romantic backdrop.

Overlooking the James River, the Bluestone Terrace set the stage for their ceremony. The all-white color palette created a clean and elegant atmosphere, with white flowers lining the aisle and grand arrangements set atop statement podiums at the end. Emma walked down the aisle arm in arm with both her parents, the river views complementing the ethereal white florals.

While guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the brick terrace, Emma and Trevor took portraits on the front lawn with their bridal party, followed by stylish shots with a vintage car that added an old-Hollywood touch to the day.

Long banquet tables replaced the traditional sweetheart setup, for the reception in the Tuscan Ballroom, placing Emma and Trevor in the heart of their celebration, surrounded by loved ones. One unforgettable detail, a vintage-style movie poster of the couple dancing, labeled “The Estate at River Run,” was displayed proudly in the ballroom.

The couple celebrated with not one, but two wedding cakes. They shared a sweet, and slightly messy, cake cutting in the wine cellar where Emma smooshed cake onto Trevor’s face. One cake was a classic white, multi-tiered design with intricate piping, while the second was a tribute to their alma mater: a Virginia Tech Hokie Bird.

With the last bites of dinner enjoyed, Emma and Trevor slipped outside for golden hour portraits on the front and back lawns and on the brick staircase and terrace. The autumn light created a dreamy glow around them. As the evening continued, the Tuscan Ballroom transformed into a dance floor for their reception. Surrounded by friends and family, the couple shared their first dance.

Bringing the celebration to a close, guests gathered on the Bluestone Terrace for a glowstick exit, an energetic and colorful finale.
